What should I know before getting into new auto sales?
Posted in: auto sales | June 16th, 2009
I'm getting out of my current sales career due to the heavy traveling. I'm going to drop off resumes to all of the high end automotive dealerships in the area.
Never being in this industry I was looking for some inside advice and info on just about everything….including commissions, sales quotas, terminology, etc. Being in outside sales for the last 8 years(since high school). I know I can sell anything thats out there because I do an excellent job of selling myself, the product just comes along for the ride. I just want to know as many of the facts, ups, and downs as possible before I jump in the water.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

i sell cars, and i make a very good living, my advice is to stay away from the high end cars. gm, toyota, honda, kia, are very good dealerships to get into. heres the best advice i can give: listen to your manager, do exactly as he says. he didnt get to becomie a manager and not be good at it and he will provide you with alot of valuable information. second listen to your customers. they will tell you everything you need to know to help sell them a car.
